The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motorcycle accident near Murchison on February 5. The crash occurred around 11 a.m. on Farm to Market Road 773, approximately 3.3 miles northeast of Murchison.
According to the authorities, George Perez, a 41-year-old Murchison resident, was riding a 2000 Suzuki motorcycle. Perez was navigating a curve at an unsafe speed when he lost control, veering off the roadway and colliding with several trees before being ejected from the motorcycle. The victim was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. There are no other details available at this time.
