38-Year-Old Tracey I Killed In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Pacific Count (Pacific County, WA)

A tragic incident unfolded overnight Saturday on U.S. Highway 101 in Pacific County, resulting in the death of a 38-year-old woman and serious injuries to two children, as reported by the Washington State Patrol.

The fatal crash occurred around 12:10 a.m. when the woman, identified as Tracey I. Koonrad of South Bend, was driving southbound on Highway 101 with the children. According to troopers, she was traveling at a speed unsuitable for the prevailing conditions and lost control of her vehicle near Milepost 61.

The car veered across the northbound lanes, entered a ditch, and collided with a tree. Sadly, Koonrad succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The two children, aged 11 and 9, sustained serious injuries and were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.

The Washington State Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
