Authorities identified 36-year-old Timothy McCallister, from Olympic Valley, as the victim who was killed following a crash Thursday in Grass Valley.
The fatal motorcycle accident took place at around 11 p.m. on Highway 49. The investigation reports showed that McCallister was riding a motorcycle at a fast speed while approaching a curve. He and his motorcycle reportedly slid into the opposite lane following which McCallister fell from his motorcycle.
He was then hit by a Honda CRV driven by 65-year-old Robert Roush of North San Juan. Timothy McCallister was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash; however, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Roush remained unharmed in the incident. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision. No other details are made available.
An investigation is ongoing.
