35-Year-Old Woman Killed In A Pedestrian Accident In Spokane (Spokane, WA)

The Spokane Police Department (SPD) reported a pedestrian accident in northeast Spokane on February 3. The crash occurred around 7 p.m. on North Morton Street and East Empire Avenue.

According to the authorities, the collision involved two vehicles and a pedestrian. Initial reports indicate that a 35-year-old woman was crossing Empire Ave, when she was hit by the first car, causing her to fall into the roadway where she was subsequently struck by a second car. The victim was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim remains undisclosed.

Following an investigation into the fatal crash, Gary Thompson, the 70-year-old driver of the first car, was arrested for vehicular homicide. Authorities determined impairment as a contributing factor. The driver of the second vehicle was found not to be impaired.
