34-year-old Bobby Knight Jr killed after a motorcycle crash in Austin (Austin, TX)

Authorities identified 34-year-old Bobby Knight Jr as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday morning in east Austin.

As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash took place on the U.S. Highway 290 Frontage Road near Cameron Road at about 2:10 a.m. The early reports showed that officers attempted to stop the driver of a Honda Rebel motorcycle. The motorcyclist, 34-year-old Bobby Knight Jr, ran a red light at the northbound Interstate 35 Frontage Road and Rundberg Lane, and slammed into another car.

On arrival, emergency personnel rushed the motorcycle rider to Dell Seton Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. The occupants of the other car were transported to Dell Seton Medical Center for a possible injury. No other details are made available.

The crash remains under investigation.
