According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a motorcycle crash transpired at approximately 10:10 p.m. on Sunday. The collision occurred in an unincorporated section of Fallbrook, near Alvarado and Morro streets.
The victim, a 33-year-old man, was riding a white Harley Davidson motorcycle in the eastbound lane of Alvarado Street, just west of Morro Street. For reasons yet to be determined, the motorcyclist rear-ended a silver Dodge Ram 1500 that was travelling in front of him.
The initial impact led to both the motorcycle and the truck colliding with several parked vehicles in the area. The motorcycle rider was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim is not yet known at this time. The truck driver was uninjured.
Initial assessments suggest that alcohol and drugs may have contributed to the crash.
