A tragic fatal crash occurred in Snohomish County late Sunday night, claiming the life of a 32-year-old motorcyclist, as reported by troopers. The incident took place on the eastbound lanes of State Route 2 at Home Acres Road after 10 p.m.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP) report, the motorcyclist was travelling eastbound and merged into the centre lane, colliding with a car and subsequently being ejected from the motorcycle.
Tragically, the rider was then struck by another car in the right lane and succumbed to injuries at the scene. The drivers of the other two cars involved were, fortunately, unharmed.
The crash led to a complete closure of SR 2, with traffic redirected to Home Acres Road, causing significant delays as the roadway remained closed for several hours.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the authorities.
