Tragedy struck early Tuesday morning as 31-year-old Jonathan Emill Vergne-Negron of Copperas Cove lost his life in a motorcycle accident on I-14. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred near the Clear Creek exit around 3:10 a.m.
Negron was riding his 2022 Harley Davidson, stood up on the motorcycle, lost control, and fell to the ground. Despite his wife’s efforts to assist him, a 2022 Toyota Camry, driven by a 32-year-old male from Copperas Cove, collided with Negron. This caused him to be fatally injured and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fatal crash investigation is ongoing. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
