30-year-old Shawn Stokes and 46-year-old Diana Fletes died after a motorcycle crash in west Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ)

Authorities identified 30-year-old Shawn Stokes and 46-year-old Diana Fletes who lost their lives following a two-vehicle collision in west Phoenix Saturday evening.

As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash took place in the area of 39th Avenue and Camelback Road at about 9:15 p.m. The investigation reports showed that Shawn Stokes, 30, who was driving the motorcycle and 46-year-old Diana Fletes, who was a passenger of the vehicle, both were declared deceased at the scene by the officials.

The reports further revealed that the motorcyclist collided with a vehicle that had two women and a teenage girl inside. The other passengers of the vehicle only incurred minimal injuries. According to police, speed of the motorcycle played a part in the accident. Camelback Road was shut down from 39th to 43rd avenues during the investigation.

An investigation continues.
