The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported a motorcycle accident in San Diego on February 6. The predawn freeway wreck occurred in North Park around 3 a.m.
According to the authorities, a 30-year-old motorist from San Diego was traveling south on Interstate 805 with a passenger when he lost control of his Ford Focus. The vehicle veered off the freeway, colliding with a barrier. The victim was fatally injured and was pronounced dead upon arrival at a hospital. The man’s identity remains undisclosed pending family notification.
CHP Officer Salvador Castro mentioned that it’s unclear if the recent heavy rains contributed to the fatal crash, which remains under investigation. The passenger sustained minor injuries.
