According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Saturday evening in Calaveras. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motorcycle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Comanche Road, east of Bret Harte Drive. The driver of a 2000 Suzuki motorcycle, failed to negotiate a curve and struck bollard posts adjacent to the roadway.
The 30-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. Further details pertaining to the accident including the identity of the victim are yet to be released.
The cause of the collision is pending determination. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
