The Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash in Clarksville on Friday night.
The crash happened at Vines Creek Rd near Powell Farm Rd st around 8:43 p.m.
28-year-old Philip Bratton was driving a green 2000 Acura TL, He made an effort to stop. sped across someone’s front yard before making a U-turn and speeding off in the opposite direction.
According to state police, the trooper pursued Bratton as he rushed into Roxana Road.
The driver continued on the road despite the red light when they arrived at the crossroads with Pyle Center Road, according to police.
A 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer traveling north on Pyle Center Road reached the intersection at the same time, according to the police, having a green signal.
Bratton was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police stated that he was not wearing a seat belt.
It is unclear what caused the fatal crash and if alcohol was a factor.
