The California Highway Patrol reported a motorcycle accident in East County on Saturday. The accident occurred on westbound State Route 94, east of Roma Road at around 10:50 a.m.
According to the officials, a single motorcycle was involved in the collision. A 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R was headed down the highway when the vehicle veered off the roadway. The events leading up to this are not clear at this time.
The driver was thrown off the bike due to the force of the crash and was critically injured. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
