According to the authorities, a solo motor vehicle crash that took place in Augusta claimed the life of a 26-year-old man who later was identified as Deveunte Zavien Calloway.
On Sunday, Calloway driving his vehicle on Old Savannah Road, 13th Avenue in Augusta, for unknown reasons, lost control of the vehicle, swerved off the road, and struck a guardrail. As a result, the vehicle ended up in a canal. Calloway was fatally injured and was pronounced dead.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
