Authorities identified 25-year-old Abdallah Zomlot as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday night in Nashville.
As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash took place on Nolensville Pike at Ocala Drive. The preliminary investigation indicated that Abdallah Zomlot was heading southbound on Nolensville Pike on his motorcycle when an officer saw him speeding and started a traffic stop.
Zomlot accelerated, but the officer did not begin a chase. Shortly after, Zomlot’s motorcycle crashed into the driver’s side door of a Volkswagen Beetle on Nolensville Pike. On arrival, medical personnel rushed Zomlot to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Two people in the Beetle were also taken to the hospital but are expected to be OK. There were no signs of impairment at the scene, officials reported. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
