A tragic collision claimed the life of a Modesto resident on Friday morning in the Waterford area, according to the California Highway Patrol. The motorcycle accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Highway 132 east of Blossom Road.
Wayne Blair, 53, of Patterson, was operating a 2024 Peterbilt big rig, maneuvering at low speed to turn left onto residential property. Meanwhile, a 23-year-old rider on a 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle approached the truck from behind, veering into the eastbound lane and colliding with the left side of the trailer.
The fatal crash ejected the rider from the motorcycle, resulting in fatal injuries. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be contributing factors. Blair, the truck driver, remained unharmed. The identity of the motorcyclist is withheld pending family notification.
