A tragic motorcycle accident unfolded on Sunday night in Katy, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old man, identified as Demetrius Bennett. The crash occurred at around 7 p.m. at Franz Road and Arrow Star Drive in unincorporated Harris County.
The fatal crash involved a Nissan Pathfinder driven by a 43-year-old woman travelling westbound on Franz Rd. As the vehicle turned onto Arrow Star Drive, it struck a Yamaha motorcycle operated by Bennett.
Unfortunately, Bennett was critically injured and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The investigation revealed that the Yamaha motorcycle did not have a properly functioning headlight. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is handling the case.
