According to California Highway Patrol officials, at approximately 11:20 p.m., emergency responders were alerted to a fatal two-vehicle collision on San Francisquito Canyon Road, near Runner Road, just north of Power Plant 1.
The motorcycle crash took place when a 2015 Honda driver was travelling northbound on San Francisquito Canyon Road. At the same time, a 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle was southbound. The Kawasaki, attempting to pass another vehicle in the southbound lane, crossed the double yellow lines at a high speed.
This collision caused the motorcycle’s rider, identified as 23-year-old Daniel Abidor, to be ejected from his bike. Abidor was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is under investigation, with authorities yet to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
