The Antioch Police Department reported a motorcycle accident in Antioch, California, on March 27. The incident occurred around 5:39 p.m. at the intersection of L and West Fourth Streets.
According to the authorities, a 20-year-old man, allegedly speeding on a dirt bike, failed to stop at the intersection and ran a stop sign. Reports indicate that he collided with a white van that had entered the intersection. Upon reaching the scene, authorities found both the motorcyclist and the 52-year-old male van driver unresponsive. Despite receiving immediate first aid from Antioch officers, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries on-site. The identity of the deceased victim remains undisclosed.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is not yet known whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the collision. The van driver was rushed to a hospital and remains in critical condition.
