20-Year-Old Man Killed In A Motorcycle Collision In Carlsbad (Carlsbad, CA)

The California Highway Patrol reported a motorcycle accident that killed a 20-year-old motorcyclist in Carlsbad on Monday. Approximately at 10:10 a.m., a 20-year-old was driving a 2006 KTM westbound on a dirt road, south of state route 78. 

Another 20-year-old driving a 2002 Yamaha WR250 motorcycle got into the pathway of the KTM and both the motorcycles crashed into each other. The driver of the KTM was fatally injured and was pronounced dead. The driver of the Yamaha was airlifted to Palomar Medical Center with severe injuries. 

The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated.
