A 16-year-old driver, identified in a police chase that culminated in a motorcycle accident in north Houston, faces multiple charges after a 19-year-old motorcyclist was killed. Houston Police Officers’ Union President Doug Griffith confirmed the driver’s age.
Police initiated a chase when they observed two drivers racing on I-45 and Gulf Bank. Despite officers’ attempts to stop the teen driver, the chase continued, reaching speeds of up to 100 mph. Exiting FM 1960, the teen ran a red light, causing a fatal crash with a motorcycle, resulting in the motorcyclist’s death.
The stolen car became disabled, and the suspect fled on foot before arrest. He was later found and arrested. His identity is not yet known at this time.
