Arizona prosecutors have dropped charges against Colton Frank Ortiz, 32, accused of a fatal crash that tragically claimed the life of a baby in a stroller. Ortiz faced charges including manslaughter, aggravated assault, and aggravated DUI.
The decision came after new evidence emerged, prompting the immediate dismissal of the charges, according to the Pima County Attorney’s Office. Marquise Reese, 34, was walking with 11-month-old Miracle Mae Calloway near Ruthrauff Road and Kain Avenue in Tucson on Feb. 27 when the pedestrian accident occurred.
Both were hospitalized, but tragically, Miracle did not survive. Further investigation is now underway based on the newly discovered evidence, with updates to follow as the case progresses.
