A tragic incident unfolded on Interstate 75 in Georgia as a 1-year-old child died after being thrown from a car during a crash. Georgia State Patrol received the call at 7:12 p.m. on Monday, April 1, reporting a collision between a Hyundai sedan and a 2022 International tractor-trailer at mile marker 206 in Spalding County.
Preliminary reports indicate the 33-year-old Hyundai driver lost control, striking a guardrail before colliding with the big rig. The impact caused the tractor-trailer to jackknife, hitting another guardrail and flipping over in the median.
The infant, riding in the Hyundai, was ejected and suffered fatal injuries. Seven others sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized. An investigation into the crash is ongoing, with potential charges pending.
