Eastbound Interstate 10 near Sky Harbor Airport has fully reopened after a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Monday morning. The accident occurred at around 6:15 a.m.
A woman was walking in the Broadway Curve construction area near 40th Street when she was struck by at least three vehicles. Unfortunately, the woman was fatally injured in the pedestrian accident and was pronounced dead. Her identity is not yet known at this time.
While two drivers stayed to cooperate with troopers, the third driver initially left but was later located without the vehicle. The victim, not a construction worker, may have been intoxicated. The investigation caused partial lane closures, with all lanes reopening just before 10:30 a.m.
