A fatal crash on Interstate 5 (I-5) south involving a pedestrian resulted in the death of one person, as reported by the Washington State Patrol (WSP) on Sunday evening. WSP Public Information Officer Kelsey Harding stated that the incident led to multiple lane closures, with traffic restricted to the far left lane.
The accident occurred at milepost 197.5 on I-5, near the 37th Street NE exit south of Marysville. Although the collision caused significant traffic congestion, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) confirmed that all lanes were reopened by Sunday night.
This pedestrian accident occurred less than 48 hours after a WSP trooper, Christopher Gadd, was killed in a separate crash on I-5 South near Marysville.
