A tragic incident unfolded in Killeen as a Kawasaki motorcycle rider, speeding through north Killeen, crashed into another vehicle, resulting in the rider’s death, according to police reports on Thursday afternoon.
The accident occurred during the morning hours, starting from a speed enforcement zone on Interstate 14 near Bell Tower Road, where state troopers observed the motorcyclist exceeding 100 mph in the eastbound lanes toward Killeen.
Although troopers attempted to stop the motorcycle by activating their emergency lights and sirens, they were not in active pursuit. The motorcyclist exited the interstate, traveled through several streets at high speeds, and ultimately collided with a black Lexus sedan on 10th Street.
Despite efforts to save him, the rider succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by Bell County Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
