The California Highway Patrol reported a motorcycle crash on Saturday near Lakewood. The accident occurred on the 605 Freeway at around 3:20 a.m.
According to the officials, a motorcycle and a vehicle were involved in a collision. The vehicle was overturned due to the force of the collision after it had crashed into the motorcycle which was down the roadway.
The motorcyclist was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. Two of the people in the vehicle were rushed to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
