A pursuit involving Georgia State Patrol resulted in a deadly crash on Campbellton Road in Atlanta Friday afternoon, claiming the life of an innocent driver. Atlanta Police had requested GSP stop a Ram 1500 pickup truck, which had been pursued by APD days before.
As GSP arrived, the driver fled, leading to a pursuit. The suspect ran a red light at Campbellton Road and Barge Road, striking a Dodge Challenger and killing its driver. Charges are pending for the suspect.
GSP’s collision reconstruction team is investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
