A tragic hit-and-run accident has left a pedestrian dead in Phoenix, near 39th Avenue and Van Buren Street. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, prompting officers to respond to reports of an injured person in the area.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered a man who had succumbed to injuries sustained from being struck by a vehicle. The driver responsible for the collision fled the scene before officers arrived, leaving the victim behind.
Police believe the unknown vehicle was traveling east on Van Buren when it collided with the man crossing the road. Preliminary investigations suggest that the vehicle immediately fled the fatal crash following the collision. Phoenix police are actively investigating the crash as they work to identify and apprehend the driver involved.
