According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Monday in Chula Vista. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motorcycle accident. Authorities stated that the multi-vehicle wreck occurred at the L Street freeway overpass, where it joins Bay Boulevard.
The motorcycle rider slid across lanes and was ejected to the ground. They were transported to UC San Diego Medical Center where they were later pronounced dead.
Other insights pertaining to the collision including the identity of the deceased person remain unknown. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
