According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported on Monday morning in Chambers County. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motorcycle accident. Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Interstate 10 near mile marker 823.
A Vespa Moped was traveling westwards when it was struck by a 2019 Dodge pickup truck.
The driver of the Moped was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. Other details including the identity of the deceased person remain unknown.
The cause of the collision is yet to be determined. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. The crash continues to be investigated by the TDPS.
