On Wednesday, one person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle accident on Bay Road.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the intersection of Bay Road and Bruce Road at approximately 1:25pm after getting reports of a motorcycle crash. The preliminary investigation indicated that a motorcycle crashed head-on into an eastbound recreational vehicle at the west end of the corner with Vista Drive.
On arrival, emergency responders found the motorcyclist laying 100 feet from where it seemed to have collided with the RV. The motorcycle rider was rushed by a medic unit to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center in serious condition through advance life support (ALS) protocol.
It is unknown if drugs and alcohol were involved in the accident. Authorities found out that the motorcycle went over the center line and slammed into the RV. Drivers could expect the section of Bay Road between Bruce Road and Olson Road to be blocked as crews worked at the scene. No other details are available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
