On Sunday, one person suffered critical injuries following a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 75.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of I-75 northbound near the Southside perimeter of Interstate 285 at about 5:50 a.m. after getting reports of a motorcycle crash. The early reports revealed that a Sedan was heading north on I-75 at Cleveland Avenue when it hit a motorcycle apparently stopped in a lane.
On arrival, medics transported the motorcycle rider to a hospital in critical condition. The incident caused traffic delays on Interstate 75 for several hours and shut down all northbound lanes. Traffic seemed to be rerouted off the roadway at approximately 7:20 a.m. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
