1 Person Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In St.Tammany Parish (St.Tammany Parish, LA)

The Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash in St. Tammany Parish on Sunday.

The accident happened close to LA Highway 21 on Interstate 12.

While traveling eastbound on I-12 in a Nissan Altima alongside an International LT625 semi-truck, the Nissan became disabled in the left lane without its lights on. 

The Nissan was struck by the truck, and as a result of the collision, it caught fire.

At this point, it is unknown what caused the Altima to become disabled.

The Nissan’s driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was declared dead at the scene.

The other truck’s driver was uninjured.

Alcohol was not found to have played a role in the accident. 

The fatal crash is still being looked into, and a standard toxicology sample will be taken from the Nissan’s driver.
