Reports from the California Highway Patrol state that a fatal crash occurred near Nevada City on Wednesday. 

The motorcycle accident reportedly took place on State Route 20, near Jefferson Creek road, east of Nevada City. Authorities said that the motorcyclist was riding on a 2009 Harley Davidson Sportster when, for reasons unknown, he left the north side of the roadway in the curve.

He then skid on the north shoulder, swerving off the side of a steep hill. The victim’s body was ejected into dense tinder and thick shrubbery. The identity of the victim has not been divulged to the public yet. 

It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Further details are awaited as the cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated.
