Michigan State Police responded to a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning that claimed a life. The crash happened along Pere Marquette Highway around 2:00 a.m.
According to the police, a Hyundai Accent, driven by a 35-year-old Tennessee man, rear-ended a 49-year-old Ludington man driving a Honda motorcycle.
The 49-year-old man was taken to Spectrum Hospital in Ludington. He was later transported to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
The car fled the scene after hitting the motorcycle and was located about a half mile. The driver was arrested for DUI, causing serious injury, along with a hit-and-run.
Additional information regarding the crash is currently unavailable. An investigation into the crash is under review.
