Wrong-way driver hurt after slamming into a concrete barrier along I-405 (Kirkland, WA)

On Monday morning, a wrong-way driver received non-serious injuries after crashing into a concrete barrier along Interstate 405 in Kirkland, the Washington State Patrol reports.

Troopers and medics actively responded to the crash scene, near 128th Street, after receiving information of a car heading north in the southbound lanes. On arrival, they found the car crashed into a barrier. An initial investigation revealed that the man was having a mental crisis.

He did not suffer any major injuries due to the crash and was transported to a hospital for an evaluation. Authorities have not provided any additional information regarding the crash and the identity of the injured has not been released.

The crash remains under review.
