On Friday, a woman lost her life after the vehicle she was riding in crashed after leaving a bar in Cypress while officers charged 26-year-old Arely Razo with intoxication manslaughter.
As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place in the 12500 block of Telge at about 2:20 a.m. The preliminary investigation showed that the vehicle, driven by Arely Razo, hit a raised curb as a result of which the driver failed to maintain control of the vehicle and slammed into a tree. On arrival, emergency crews rushed Razo to a nearby trauma center with non-fatal injuries.
A female passenger in her 20′s was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The female driver seemed to display signs of intoxication. A witness informed the officers that the women, who deputies said were in a relationship, were seen leaving a bar down the street before the accident. Razo was detained and has been charged with intoxicated manslaughter. Authorities said that the vehicle had major damage to the passenger side. No other details are available.
The crash remains under review.
