Woman injured after being run down by a car possibly racing on the Northwest Side (San Antonio, TX)

On Saturday, a female pedestrian suffered injuries after being struck by a car on the Northwest Side.

Bystanders informed the officers that two cars were racing down Bandera Road when one of them ran down a woman trying to cross the street. The auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Bandera Road and Bloomfield Drive on the Northwest Side.

According to the witness, the woman was standing in the middle of the road when she was hit and the two vehicles seemed to be racing at the time of the crash. Both the vehicles did not stop to help the woman. On arrival, medics transported the woman to University Hospital in stable condition with injuries to her lower extremities. The identity of the injured victim has not been revealed at this time.

An investigation is ongoing.
