On Saturday, a woman suffered injuries after being struck by her own car on Interstate 10.
As per the initial information, officers quickly responded to the area of 12800 Interstate 10 E WB just after 2:00 a.m. after getting reports of an auto-pedestrian crash. The preliminary investigation indicated that a 27-year-old woman’s vehicle seemed to have a mechanical damage, so she pulled over on the side of the road off the roadway to check the vehicle.
Just then, another vehicle rear-ended the woman’s vehicle, pushing it into her. On arrival, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle for suspicion of DWI, due to the presence of open containers. The woman was taken by EMS to a downtown hospital with facial trauma and possible fractures. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation is ongoing.
