Woman hospitalized after a single-vehicle accident in Hudsonville (Hudsonville, MI)

On Saturday evening, a single-vehicle accident injured one person in Hudsonville.

As per the initial information, the incident took place at about 6:59 p.m. on Chicago Drive. The preliminary investigation showed that a 64-year-old man from Hudsonville was traveling with two passengers in the car, including a 64-year-old woman and 4-year-old girl, also from Hudsonville. They were going westbound on Chicago Drive, east of Balsam Drive.

At some point, the man fell asleep at the wheel as a result of which his vehicle smashed into the median and hit the ditch face. On arrival, medics took the female passenger to Butterworth Hospital by ambulance with non-critical injuries. The girl did not receive any injuries. All of the passengers were reportedly wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Officers confirmed a citation to the man for the violation.

An investigation is ongoing.
