The Washington State Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash in Everson on Sunday afternoon.
A blue 2012 Hyundai Accent had failed to pause at a stop sign at East Badger Road while t was heading north on Trapline Road. A silver 2019 Kia Soul was driving east on Bader Road when it crashed into the Accent. The force of the collision caused the two vehicles to land in the ditch.
The driver of the Accent, identified only as a woman, was critically injured and rushed to PeaceHealth St. Josephs’s Medical Center. She succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The identities of both victims have not been disclosed at this time.
Both drivers, who were the only people in their cars, were found to be wearing seatbelts at the time of the fatal crash, and neither drugs nor alcohol was thought to have played a role.
