Woman died after being hit by an intoxicated driver while trying to cross highway (San Antonio, TX)

A woman lost her life after being struck by an intoxicated driver Sunday while trying to cross the highway.

As per the initial information, at about 2:15 a.m., a woman was trying to cross NW Loop 410 between IH 10 and Fredericksburg Road. At that point of time, the driver of a gray 2019 Dodge Charger was reportedly heading westbound on Loop 410 when they hit the woman.

The driver stopped and waited with the victim as police began to arrive. The driver reportedly displayed signs of intoxication. They were evaluated and detained for DWI. The victim was declared dead at the scene by EMS. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.

The crash remains under investigation.
