A woman lost her life and a man was injured after a traffic collision Wednesday morning in Oakland County.

As per the initial information, the fatal head-on crash took place along Novi Road between 13 Mile and Old Novi Roads. The preliminary reports showed that the two trucks were going in opposite directions along Novi Road when one of the vehicles drifted across the middle line and crashed head-on into the other.

Authorities confirmed that one woman died as a result of the collision while a man was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. Novi Road was closed down to give way to the investigation. It is unknown why the truck went over the centerline. No further details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
