One person killed and another hospitalized after a weather-related crash on the Southeast Side, as per San Antonio police.
The weather-related crash happened near a Dollar General at the intersection of S. WW White Road and Retta Street.
Police said a blue Mitsubishi was going south on WW White and a Chrysler was moving north on WW White. Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi attempted to make a left turn into a Dollar General.
The Mitsubishi didn’t see the oncoming Chrysler and the vehicles smashed almost head-on, as per officials.
Medics rushed the driver of the Mitsubishi, a 73-year-old man, and passenger, a 44-year-old woman, to the Brooke Army Medical Center. However, the woman died from injuries sustained in the crash, police said.
As of now, authorities have not revealed her identity.
Also, officials said the driver of the Chrysler did not sustain any injuries.
Speed did not play a factor in the accident. However, weather was a key factor in the crash.
An investigation is underway.
