Two-vehicle collision along southbound Highway 160, 372 has not caused any major injuries. The incident took place at around 12:30 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 22nd.
NHP Trooper Kevin McNeal told the crash involved a C&S Waste Solutions commercial garbage truck.
The fully loaded garbage truck was going northbound on Highway 160, in the left turn lane waiting to turn onto westbound Highway 372. Meanwhile, a white Nissan SUV was moving southbound on 160 approaching the light at Highway 372. Witnesses told that the SUV ran red light and clipped the side of the garbage truck.
During investigation of the accident at the scene, authorities rerouted the southbound traffic along Highway 160 just north of Highway 372 through the Bank of America parking lot.
Also, the crash damaged garbage truck’s hydraulic fluid tanks. Resultantly, it started spilling. However, it did not require a Hazmat response.
Moreover, radiator fluid leaked from the SUV following the collision. However, no one received injuries.
Additionally, police cited the driver of the SUV for their role in the collision.
