Two people missing after a vehicle went into Snoqualmie River near Fall City; driver arrested (Fall City, WA)

Crews are looking for a woman and an eight-year-old boy after the vehicle they were riding in crashed and fell into the Snoqualmie River Sunday morning near Fall City.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place shortly before 2 a.m. on SE Fall City – Snoqualmie Road near the Fish Hatchery Road intersection. The driver of the vehicle, only identified as a 35-year-old Carnation man, and an 8-month-old child survived the crash.

The early reports showed that the driver of the SUV failed to maintain control of the vehicle while trying to make a turn in slippery conditions. The driver was detained for investigation of driving under the influence. Fall City Fire, Eastside Fire & Rescue, Washington State Patrol and the King County Sheriff’s Office had workers in the river searching for the woman and child. No other details have been provided.

The crash remains under active review.
