Two people killed after a multi-vehicle pile-up in Merced County (El Nido, CA)

Two people lost their lives after a multi-vehicle accident early Tuesday morning in Merced County.

As per the initial information, the four-vehicle pile-up involving a semi-truck took place at about 4:30 a.m. on Highway 59 and Furtado Road east of the town of El Nido. The early reports indicated that one car came to a stop in a ditch and another ended up in a field.

The events that have led up to the collision remain unknown at this time. The identities of the victims have not been released at this time. No other details are available regarding the crash.

The wreck remains under review.
