Two Oakland school district employees were injured after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday while crossing a street in Oakland.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian accident took place on High Street between San Leandro and Wattling streets at about 6:30 a.m. The preliminary reports showed that the  two school district employees were crossing the street to work at a district facilities department when the incident happened.

The reports also revealed that a car hit them and sent them both into the air and back onto the pavement. The driver, a young woman, did pull over and might have been distracted by her young son. According to the school district spokesperson, the two employees had broken bones from the collision.
