On early Tuesday, a rollover crash in Olympia caused traffic delays.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place at around 3:45 a.m. on northbound Interstate 5 and Henderson Boulevard. The early reports showed that a pickup truck hauling a fifth wheel trailer crashed on northbound I-5 for undetermined reasons. Traffic was slowed for approximately six hours in the area due to the wreck.
Reports further revealed that the truck driver failed to maintain control of his vehicle and the trailer flipped over in the area of northbound I-5. The incident slowed rush-hour traffic because it closed two lanes of the freeway. It took longer than usual to clean up the scene because after the trailer flipped over, it released almost five gallons of wastewater.
A special tow truck was needed to haul away the vehicle from the scene. The scene was cleared at about 9 a.m., officials reported. It is unknown if the driver was cited or suffered any injuries as a result of the accident. No other details are made available.
The incident remains under investigation.
